How to use name correctly
Identifies the human-readable name of the described entity. It is not necessarily a page title or a legal name in every context.
Common mistake to avoid
Match the visible entity name. Avoid stuffing keywords or substituting a category label for a specific item.
Applied example and verification
On a product detail page, the name should identify the item that the visitor can actually buy or inspect. On an organization page, it should identify the organization. The same property can appear in many entity types, but that does not mean the value should always be the HTML title of the page. A page title may include promotional text, navigation context or a website suffix that does not belong in the entity name. Compare the structured-data value against the visible item label or official record. If the page describes several entities, make sure the name belongs to the correct one. A generic keyword phrase is not a substitute for a verified name. This example is intentionally a placeholder and must not be copied into live markup.
Example property value
This snippet is illustrative and may not be sufficient markup on its own. Replace placeholders with real values.
