Find direct answers to common questions about our free, browser-based structured data checker. These answers explain current capabilities and limits without promising Google rankings or rich results.
What does Schema Support Checker actually check?
It checks pasted JSON-LD or JSON-LD scripts inside HTML for JSON syntax problems and a focused set of structured-data issues. It also explains selected Google feature statuses. It is not a complete Schema.org validator.
Is Schema Support Checker free, and do I need an account?
All checker functions are free. There is no account, subscription, paid plan or daily request quota. Browser memory and file-size safety limits still apply.
Does my uploaded HTML or ZIP file leave my computer?
No. Schema checking, file reading, safe-fix previews and report downloads run inside your browser. The website still loads ordinary site assets, and optional production advertising can make separate third-party requests as explained in the Privacy Policy.
What is the maximum ZIP upload size?
A ZIP archive may be up to 20 MB compressed. Supported files inside it may total up to 25 MB extracted, and each supported file may be up to 1 MB. There is no fixed entry-count quota. Large archives may still exceed browser memory limits.
Which file types can I upload?
The checker accepts .json, .jsonld, .html, .htm and .zip. Inside ZIP archives, only supported JSON and HTML files are checked; unrelated files and folders are skipped.
Can I check thousands of files in one ZIP?
There is no fixed file-count cap, and ZIP64 entry counts are supported. Whether thousands of files complete successfully depends on the 20 MB compressed, 25 MB extracted and 1 MB per-file limits, plus available browser memory.
What does the auto-fix tool change?
It previews limited, conservative edits such as safe JSON formatting corrections when possible. It does not invent prices, product names, ratings, availability, reviews or other factual claims. Always review the corrected output before publishing.
When can I copy or download a corrected JSON-LD file?
Only after Preview auto-fix produces a real safe change. If no safe edit is possible or the code is already unchanged, the corrected copy and download controls stay disabled. The tool never fills missing factual values automatically.
What does the shareable checker summary link contain?
Only error, warning and entity counts, syntax status, and a limited list of generic issue codes in the URL fragment. It does not contain pasted JSON-LD, HTML, filenames, field values, or diagnostic messages. Anyone with the link can view that read-only snapshot; it is not a fresh check. Normal website requests still occur.
Will my original HTML be preserved?
For supported HTML correction previews, the checker preserves the surrounding HTML and edits JSON-LD script content only when it can make a safe correction. Always compare the before-and-after versions.
What is the difference between Schema.org validity and Google rich-result eligibility?
Schema.org describes a broad vocabulary. Google supports selected rich-result features with additional rules. Valid Schema.org markup does not automatically qualify for a Google rich result, and eligibility does not guarantee display.
Does valid schema guarantee higher rankings or rich results?
No. Structured data can help search engines interpret eligible content, but it cannot guarantee rankings, rich-result appearance, indexing or traffic. Verify with official Google tools and Search Console.
Can this tool check whether visible HTML matches Product schema?
It offers limited heuristics comparing selected visible Product details such as name or price with JSON-LD. It cannot fully render or verify every page, JavaScript state or product variation.
Can I download a report for a batch?
Yes. After checking a batch, you can download a combined CSV report, a Markdown report and a ZIP of eligible corrected files. Individual corrected-file downloads are also available when a safe fix exists.
What languages are available?
English and Roman Urdu are available for checker issue explanations where translations exist. The language control also translates key navigation and interface labels. Full articles and guides remain in English for now.
Can I switch between dark and light mode?
Yes. Use the Theme selector in the header to select Dark, Light or System theme. Your preference is saved locally in your browser when storage is available.
Is FAQ structured data still useful for Google rich results?
FAQPage remains a Schema.org type, but Google retired FAQ rich-result display in 2026. Our FAQ is written to answer visitor questions clearly, not to promise an FAQ rich result.
How often is Google feature support updated?
Google support statuses are maintained as a dated static editorial snapshot rather than a live Google API. Check the last-checked date and follow the linked official Google documentation before making production decisions.
