Schema.org is a vocabulary. Google's rich-result features are product decisions that can change without making the underlying vocabulary invalid.
FAQ rich results
Google stopped showing FAQ rich results on May 7, 2026 and removed documentation on June 15, 2026. The FAQPage type still exists in Schema.org.
How-to rich results
Google stopped showing How-to rich results in 2023. Existing HowTo markup should not be presented as a guarantee of a Google How-to search appearance.
What should you do?
Keep markup that accurately describes your content when useful for other consumers, but do not promise retired Google search appearances. Check Google's documentation updates and our dated status table.
Frequently asked questions
Answers are educational. FAQ markup does not guarantee Google FAQ rich results.
Does a retired Google feature make the Schema.org type invalid?
No. Google search presentation support and Schema.org vocabulary are separate.
How do I check whether a Google feature is current?
Read the dated Google support catalogue and verify the official Google Search Central documentation.
