Try the live tool: Open Convert Microdata and RDFa to JSON-LD (and Back) →
What this tool does
Step-by-step browser-local conversion between simple Schema.org HTML Microdata, RDFa and JSON-LD with explicit limitations.
1. Select the conversion direction
Choose HTML → JSON-LD for existing Microdata or simple RDFa, or JSON-LD → HTML to generate basic markup.
2. Select the HTML format
Microdata uses itemscope, itemtype and itemprop. Simple RDFa uses typeof, property and resource. Paste the source; it is parsed without executing scripts.
3. Convert and verify
Inspect the output, warnings and property values. Copy or download the result; for JSON-LD, use Check in Schema Checker. Compare nested objects and references with the source before publishing.
Practical example
A Microdata Product with itemprop="name" and content="Demo Laptop" can become a JSON-LD Product with name "Demo Laptop".
Limits and responsible use
This converter handles a practical subset, not all RDFa 1.1, Microdata itemref, remote vocabularies or every HTML semantic rule. HTML output is source text only.
Keep the original markup for comparison. Review facts against the real page, and use the dated Google feature catalogue or official Google Search Central documentation where relevant. A local check is not a search-ranking or rich-result guarantee.

Frequently asked questions
Answers are educational. FAQ markup does not guarantee Google FAQ rich results.
Does the converter run pasted HTML scripts?
No. It uses inert HTML parsing and never inserts the pasted markup into the active page.
Is full RDFa 1.1 supported?
No. The current converter supports simple Schema.org typeof and property patterns only.
Can I convert JSON-LD back to HTML?
Yes, for simple entities, properties and nested objects. Verify the generated markup manually.
